Wotcha. Let me echo the cries of derision currently emanating from the metrop: HOW CAN IT BE OCTOBER ALREADY? Scary, isn’t it.
Still, at least there’s October’s Colliderscope to look forward to!
This month we’re all about the roller, or rolla, or whatever your preferred colloquialism might be. To put it another way, while a big drop might be an eminently satisfying experience, sometimes you just want to let a tune envelope you, move you and perhaps tickle your tits a little bit.
Thus, from 10pm (GMT) this Saturday, we shall bliss out to tuneage from a multitude of specially selected numbers that like to play the long game. Expect foot tappers and bum wigglers that - as is the Colliderscope tradition - all weigh in rather heavy in the bottom end.
Never fear, there will be the odd curve ball too (to borrow a phrase from our American bredren) including a tune from dubstepper, Reign, which makes me afraid to be in the house alone. We’ll also be getting re-acquainted with offerings from (to name but a few) Jurassic 5, Sueno Latino, Nick Faber and an early Mo-Wax release.
As for October’s Miaow Mix, I’m very excited to introduce the sensationally named, Sir Lobster. He hails from Ghent, Belgium and has played alongside the likes of Kid Koala, Bonobo and DJ Krush…not bad for a salt-water dwelling crustacean. The pink-shelled one has put together a beautiful and eclectic selection taking in the best of his undeniably extensive wax collection.
Find out more about Mr Lobster on Myspace, Mixcloud, and the omnipresent evil of Facebook.
See you this Saturday on Space Invader Radio and be sure to hit me up if you require further info.
Soonest, DM.
