What is up, yo? Feels like a long time since we spoke. This Saturday it’s time to party once again with Colliderscope, as we herald the onset of Sunday morning with finest bassline and hook.
This month we go in heavy on the booties, by which I mean there are a number of em’ from the likes of Featurecast, Tom Drummond and The Funk Hunters to name, well, three. Couple of exclusives for your glutes too; the first from Nick Faber and his as yet unreleased Fabyl project is a down-tempo, subtlely orchestral roller called Patterns. Thanks Nick! You’re a bad melon farmer… Secondly I’m right proud to bring you 0MG, a vast, terrifying dubstep(ish) monster from Benjwahbeats. You might have heard this fellow on BBC 6 Music lately and he’s quite hard to pin down in terms of genre, check out his Soundcloud page for the a la carte. And we’ll be kicking off and ending the show with some superb hip-hop including one of my biggest joints (to borrow a term from my boy Westwood) of all time from 3rd Bass.
Feburary’s Miaow Mix comes from yours truly and incurred a vinyl drum’n’bass archaeology session resulting in…wait for it…Mog’s Jump-upstrospective. Forty minutes of raw, unrefined breakbeats and walking basslines from those halcyon days when electronic music was forced to leave the computer. Or, to put it another way, the ’90s.
As ever, hit me up if you want to be involved with the show. Especially if you want to lend your singular talents to the Miaow Mix.
Meantime, the usual cordial big ups and I’ll see you from 10pm, this Saturday on Space Invader Radio.
